Le premier ancêtre connu de la famille est originaire de Saint-Didace, Lanaudiere, Quebec, Canada où naquit, en l’an 1874, Arthur . Sa descendance est cognatique et se présente par ordre de primogéniture. Elle s’étend sur trois générations dans laquelle on dénombre 101 personnages.
0 – Arthur Arbour, Tobaconiste 1891. Né le lundi 2 novembre 1874, jour de la fête des morts à Saint-Didace au Canada (Lanaudière), il a été baptisé le lendemain à Saint-Didace au Canada, en l’Église de Saint-Didace [i]. Il est décédé le samedi 1er septembre 1945 à Granby au Canada à l’âge de soixante-dix ans [ii]. Il s’était marié le mardi 23 novembre 1897 à Granby au Canada, en l’Église de Notre-Dame de Granby [iii], alors qu’il avait vingt-trois ans, avec une femme de vingt ans nommée Arzelia Dery, née le samedi 30 décembre 1876 à Aston-Jonction au Canada (Centre du Québec) et décédée le vendredi 23 avril 1943 à Granby au Canada (Montérégie) dans sa soixante-septième année. Leur union avait duré quarante-six ans.
I – Maurice Arbour, né le jeudi 25 août 1898 à Granby au Canada (Montérégie) [iv] et décédé le mardi 26 août 1969 à Montreal au Canada à l’âge de soixante et onze ans [v]. Elle s’était mariée le lundi 3 novembre 1919 dans sa ville natale [xxvii], alors qu’elle avait dix-neuf ans, avec un homme de vingt ans nommé Omer Lacroix, né en 1899 et décédé en 1962 dans sa soixante-quatrième année. Leur union avait duré quarante-trois ans.
III – Armand Arbour. [xxviii], né en 1902 à Granby au Canada (Montérégie) [xxix]. Il est décédé le mercredi 11 juillet 1956 à East Providence aux Etats-Unis et a été inhumé en juillet suivant à Providence aux Etats-Unis, Little Neck Cemetery in Riverside, Providence, Rhode Island, USA, âgé de cinquante-quatre ans [xxx]. Il s’était marié en 1924 à Lawrence aux Etats-Unis (Essex County) [xxxi], alors qu’il avait vingt-deux ans, avec Sophia Nadeau, née vers 1905 à Quebec au Canada (Capitale-Nationale) et décédée vers 1930 à ? aux Etats-Unis. Leur union avait duré près de six ans. Armand s’est marié en secondes noces, à l’âge de trente-six ans, en 1938 à ? aux Etats-Unis [xxxii] avec une femme de trente-six ans nommée Cora Pilotte, née le jeudi 6 février 1902 à Fall River aux Etats-Unis (Bristol) et décédée le mercredi 13 février 1957 à Providence aux Etats-Unis dans sa cinquante-sixième année. ARMAND R. ARBOUR
Armand R. Arbour, 54, of 617 Bullocks Point Ave, East Providence, owner of the Wee Wash It Laundry dropped dead of a heart attack while working early last night at the laundry, 444 Bullocks Point Ave, that town. According to East Providence police, he was pronounced dead by Dr. Charles Bryan, police surgeon, shortly after 6 pm. He had owned the laundry for 2 years. The husband of Mrs. Cora M. (Pilotte) Arbour, he was formerly a private contractor in Riverside. Mr. Arbour was born in Granby, Canada, the son of Arthur and Arselia (Dery) Arbour. He moved to East Providence 18 years ago. He was amember of the Providence Lodge of the Elks. He is survived by his wife; a son, Paul A., of Riverside; six brothers, Fernand ofNewport, and Roger, George E., Maurice, Rene, and the Rev. Marcel, all of Canada; and five sisters, Mrs. Lea Lacroix of Lawrence, MA, Mrs. Georgette Fredette of Burbank, CA, and Mrs. Simonne Poirier, Miss Germain, and Sister Marie-Fernand, all of Canada. Funeral services will be held at the McConnell Watson Funeral Home, 670 Willett Ave, Riverside, at a time to be announced. Other arrangements are incomplete.

From Lea (ARCAND) RIZZI on 10 Jun 2005: Hello Family and Friends: I am sure you remember the accident that took my cousin Paul Arbour’s son Justin and his wife. Baby Autumn is doing very well. Shortly after, Paul’s wife had to go to the hospital for a medical problem that she has had for many years. She is now in a nursing home and possibly will not make it home. Now Paul, who had had three strokes, had his fourth about a little over a week ago. He is totally paralyzed on one whole side. The doctors said he had no left brain action and last night he recommended Paul be taken off his feeder since he could not swallow or think. It will be done sometime today with his family around him. Please pray for this sweet person and gentle man who took care of everyone except himself. Thank you so much for your prayers.
From Lea (ARCAND) RIZZI on 13 Jun 2005: Paul had made a written request that if he was on tubes after a few days, he wanted the tubes removed. They now have him on morphine and the doctors feel without his blood pressure medication he would have a massive heart attack and it wouldn’t be long after that. His sister handled the request to the doctor and Paul was able to answer to the fact that was what he wanted. They brought his wife to him from the hospital to say goodbye and when his daughter came to see him, he was trying to cry; he really loved her. All his family left yesterday because many had to go home. They were all affected by this happening to him, but they all expected it because it was his fourth stroke and was very serious this time.

WHERE LOVE BLOOMS
This couple proved love is ageless and the determined will make it happen. The bride couldn’t wear heels. Fluffy, comfortable slippers decorated with lace and pearl-like beading will do. In reciting his vows, the groom was barely understood.But his grin, and the sparkle in his eyes, screamed, «I do.» Neither could stand and hold hands during the ceremony. Serena Cole and Paul Arbour, instead, sat and faced each other. They touched by clutching the chaplain’s knee-length stole. And neither had the finances for last Wednesday’s wedding. The staff at Eastgate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, where the two met just three months ago, took care of that. A volunteer, Ines Heirsch, made the dress and veil by hand and bakedthe three-tier cake. Others catered, decorated, got the legal paperwork and donated the rings. «Paul came to us in August, and in October they announce to us that they were getting married and were in love,» said Renee Ferruccio, the Waterman Avenue center’s charge nurse and unit manager for the first floor. «At first, we thought it was cute and then we knew they were serious, so we went right to work.» It was a first for the center, which houses 63 residents on its two floors. Cole, 65, and Arbour, 62, had rooms on opposite wings on the same floor. They met at one of the many activities held there. «We met in exercise class,» Cole said, while confiding she caught him sneaking a peak. Next came the love letters, whichArbour had the nurses deliver. Cole walked her responses back to his room once she found out where it was. When asked what she likes most about Arbour, she looked at him, his eyes still dancing with delight, and said, «His looks and his smile.» Ferruccio said, «They began holding hands at all the activities. They set the wedding date for December 19.» It was Arbour’s third marriage. His first two wives died, Cole explained. And it was Cole’s first. «My mother wouldn’t let me getmarried, but now that she passed away, I can get married whenever I want,» the former Maine resident said. «She didn’t like the guys I picked.» When asked if her mother would approve of Arbour, Cole said, «She better, because I married him.»Arbour is a former tow truck driver who grew up in East Providence. The wedding took place in a common area and the aisle was the center’s corridors. The Eastgate chaplain, Susan Eenigenberg, who usually helps the residents through grief, illnesses, loneliness and the death of friends and relatives, officiated. «Ohhh, I’m gonna cry,» a staff member said as the traditional music began to play. Another said, «We did it. Look, look, the bride is coming!» The best man was Eastgateresident Melvin Goldenberg; the matron of honor, Cole’s roommate, was Joanna Fortes. «Welcome,» Eenigenberg said. «A wedding is such a wonderful occasion, full of hopes, dreams and excitement. Love is powerful and yet it is also simple. It is the highest achievement.» She skipped several lines of their vows, stating they have already proved they are committed to each other «in sickness and in health.» The chaplain continued, «Love never fails. What you have given me is [the ideato]never give up. That is love.» When it was time tosay, «I do,» Arbour didn’t wait until Eenigenberg finished. «I will with the help of God,» the groom said. He was dressed in a maroon button-down, black slacks, and a tie. His boutonnièrewas pinnedto his red-and white-striped suspenders. Said Cole, «Paul, I wish to be your wife. I promise to love and support you from this day forward as long as we both shall live.» She got up and walked to himfor their first official kiss. Those in the audience — including one of Arbour’s daughters, a lot of staff, disabled residents and others — then threw fake rose petals at them. Cole gladly showed off her diamond ring as people congratulated her. Yet she wouldn’t let go ofher man’shand. They will move into a new room together in the coming days.

Brenda Lee Arbour, 19, and Justin J. Arbour, 31, both of King Street, Warwick, died 30 April 2005, accidentally from injuries resulting from an automobile accident on the Wampanoag Trail, East Providence. Brenda Lee, a homemaker, is the daughter of Alfred and Felicia (Guercia) Accioli, both of Providence, she lived in Warwick for the past year. She was the mother of Autumn Lynn Arbour and great-granddaughter of Natalie Guercia of Warwick. Justin, a laborer, is the son of Paul A.Arbour of Warwick and the late Marguerite A. (Doyle) Arbour, he lived in Warwick for the past five years. He was employed by Meade Construction Company, Barrington, for the past year. He enjoyed cooking. Besides his father he leaves his daughter, Autumn Lynn Arbour; three brothers, Gregory P. Arbour of Warren, Robert Robberson of North Kingstown and Patrick J. Robberson of East Providence; and a sister, Lila Rose Arbour of Warwick. The funerals was held from W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St Brendan Church, Turner Ave., Riverside. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Contributions in Brenda and Justin’s memory to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, 593 EddyStreet, Providence, RI 02903 would be deeply appreciated.

Frederick J. Arbour, 76, of Branford, CT, passed away at Connecticut Hospice after a short illness, surrounded by his family, on 28 March 2013. He was born 6 June 1936, in Newport, RI, son of the late Fernand and Catherine Cayton Arbour. A boating enthusiast with friends on the Connecticut River, Fred enjoyed retirement spending time by the water, reading and walking. Remembered for his humor, Fred entertained family and friends at every occasion. In his earlier years, Fred was a dance instructor with Arthur Murray Dance Studios, meeting his future wife, Gerri, on the dance floor. He worked as a chemical operator at United Nuclear and Upjohn Chemical prior to his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Milici Arbour, children, Frederick J. Arbour of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Kenneth R. (Kimberly) Arbour of Branford, Nicole H. Kasynak of Nashua, NH, and Robert E. (Deborah) Arbour of Simpsonville, SC; his grandchildren, Theresa and Kali Chasse, Justin and Chelsea Kasynak, Rachel, Ryker and Morgan Arbour; his brother, Ronald (Dolores) Arbour of Orange, CT, his sister, Kathryn Arbour of Denver, CO. He was predeceased by his brother Robert E. Arbour. Relatives and friends may callWednesday evening from 5-7 pm at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, and are invited to a memorial Mass of Christian Burial Thursday morning at 10:00 in St Mary Church, Branford. Marcel Arbour, Internet document, ARBOUR, Père Marcel 1921 – 2008 Le père Marcel Arbour, religieux de la congrégation de Sainte-Croix, est décédé le mardi 5 février 2008 à l’Hôpital général juif, à l’âge de 86 ans. Né à Granby, le 21 février 1921, fils d’Arthur Arbour et de Arsélia Déry, il entra dans la congrégation Sainte-Croix en 1946. Il a été ordonné prêtre le 3 avril 1949.
Le père Arbour a exercé son ministère comme professeur au Collège de Saint-Laurent puis vicaire de paroisse à Notre-Dame-du-Bois-Franc, douze ans comme prédicateur dans les paroisses et institutions, aumônier des pompiers et des policiers de Ville Saint-Laurent et des Foyers Notre-Dame, enfin curé de la paroisse St-Grégoire-le-Grand à Mont Saint-Grégoire pendant vingt-trois ans (1983 – 2003). Outre sa famille religieuse, il laisse dans le deuil plusieurs neveux et nièces, ainsi que de nombreux amis.
Il sera exposé au 4994, chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges à Montréal, le dimanche 10 février de 14 à 17 h et de 19 à 21h. Des prières communautaires y auront lieu le même jour à 16 h 30 et à 19 h 30. L’eucharistie des funérailles sera concélébrée le lundi 11 février à 10 h à la crypte de l’Oratoire Saint-Joseph-du-Mont-Royal. L’inhumation aura lieu au cimetière de la congrégation à Saint-Laurent.
